Where can I find an updated firmware?
All firmware updates are available from the Airlink Tech support website. Please follow update instructions carefully.
Can I use the firmware for the MG-25P, MG-25N, or LMG-100?
Yes, these are variations on the original MG-25 and the firmware seems to work on all models. You should not use the firmware from an MG-35 or MG-350.
How do I stop my movies skipping or jerking?
The MG-25 has problems with certain video files that results in the movie ‘jerking’ every couple of seconds. For some movies the level of jerking may be watchable (it appears like the movie is running slightly slower than it should), for others it is unacceptable. Exactly why the jerking occurs is not known, but it is likely caused by how the video is encoded. If you have a movie that jerks then your only option is to re-encode it and chose different video and audio settings.
On Windows you can use DrDivX, and on OS X you can use DrDivX or FFMPEGX. There are numerous other suitable tools. When re-encoding, experiment by lowering the video and audio bit rates until you find a format that works. You may also want to try converting between NTSC and PAL, depending on what format the original video is and what format your TV uses. Always ensure you disable ‘quarter pixels’ and ‘GMC’ as the MG-25 cannot play videos with these options.
How do I fix encoding errors such as GMC/Quarter Pixel?
You need to re-encode the video so it no longer has GMC or quarter pixel options enabled. To do this read the FAQ on how to stop movies jerking.
My audio is not in sync with the video, what can I do?
If the video plays back on your computer without problems then your best option is to re-encode the video and choose different video and audio bit-rates. See the FAQ on how to stop movies jerking.
How do I play .sub or .idx subtitle files?
The MG-25 cannot natively play this format and you need to convert it to the SRT format using a tool such as Sub Rip.
Nothing is appearing on my screen – help!
First check the power and video cables to the MG-25 and to your TV setup. Make sure the TV is on the correct input, and that any other equipment (such as Amplifier) is working.
If the power-light is on then it is possible that the MG-25 is outputting video in a different format than you require. You can force the output format to change by pressing F1 when the device is switched on. This will cycle through all video formats and hopefully one will be correct for your setup.
