Urban Giraffe Support | Redirection
Your module was not created - did you provide a name?
Hey Guys,
I've just installed Redirection at www.cartmelcollege.co.uk, in the hope of simply redirecting ./category/the-griffin to ./the-griffin, and wanted to use a Wordpress plugin rather than .htaccess hacks to allow other users of the website to maintain the website appropriately.
However immediately after installation none of the functionality appears to be working. Whenever I try to create a module I receive an error specifying I need to provide a name, even when I clearly do so. Or when I try to create a group, redirection etc ... I still receive the same error. I have tried this on FireFox 3.0.1 with Firebug installed and no errors have cropped up, and also with the Beta release of Google Chrome, and IE 8 Beta 2 - and am receiving the same error across all browsers.
Could there be some sort of conflict between other plugins going on here?

It is likely to be a conflict, yes. If you can narrow down the problem then I'll take a look and see if I can add anything to Redirection to stop it happening.

Hey John, thanks for the quick response. I tried deactivating all enabled plugins and then activating Redirection by itself to see if there was a conflict there, but I still received the same errors when trying to create a Redirection, or Group or Module. Is there perhaps a compatability issue with Wordpress 2.6.1? Or is perhaps Meta Robots or WP Super Cache conflicting since they both interact with the .htaccess file as Redirection can do?

No, there's no problem with 2.6.1. I cant imagine either Meta Robots of Super Cache will be causing a problem as by default Redirection doesnt use .htaccess.
If you create a bug report over in the bug tracker and upload a screenshot of the error message then I can keep track of it better. It's likely that the only way for me to investigate further is to get access on to your server to try and debug what's going on.

@Michael: I was having the same issue. John had post this following link before, and, at least for me, it solved the problem.

If you have access to the .htaccess file in /wp-admin, put the code shown in it (or add the file).

That's a good suggestion starlyth. If this fixes your problem Michael let me know and I'll then be able to look at why this may be causing such an effect
