URL monitoring and automatic redirections

1 year ago | Robert (Member)

I have a question regarding automatic URL redirection...

Does this mean that when I change the slug on a post that an automatic redirection will be created as per the "URL Monitoring" options?

And if so...

Under what conditions will the Redirection plugin detect changes to the post slug?

1) When changing slug for an individual post in edit screen?

2) When changing slug in another plugin such as "SEO Title Tag".

I'm basically wanting to clean up my post/page slugs without the added chore of having to manually create a redirect on each slug change.

Basically, whenever WordPress notifies Redirection that the slug has changed, as per the usual WordPress notification methods. This is definitely the case when editing a post, and I couldn't say for other plugins.

    Thanks John,

Appreciate your response on the Wordpress side of things.

I will test the plugin that I mentioned and report back on the Forum - my findings might be of interest to other readers.

    Cheers,
