Huge problem with search results in Google

1 year ago | Viv Smythe (Member)

When people click on search results in Google for one particular site of mine, instead of seeing my site this is what they see:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class highlighter in /home/vivida/public_html/gaggingf/wp-content/plugins/search-unleashed/models/highlighter.php on line 7

I'd wondered why my stats hadn't increased as much as I expected over the last few months. Who's going to visit my site ever again when this is the message they end up with?

I've disabled search-unleashed for the moment (and now people who find my search results on Google get to my site with no problems), but what was happening?

You are the only person to report this issue so I would suspect that you have some plugin, theme, or system setup which is causing the error. You could try disabling other plugins or trying a different theme to see if there is any effect.

Thanks for the reply - sorry for the delayed response (busy time). I may well give all that a go, because I loved the search result for searches within the blog. It will just have to wait until I have a moment to scratch myself. I'm getting nearly twice the number of daily visitors to the site since I disabled search-unleashed, but I'd much rather I could get it working properly.
