Fatal Error installing 3.4.1 on WP2.5
I was using headspace on my WP2.3.3 but when I upgraded to 2.5, headspace was broken. I don't recall the version of hsm that I had but I was advised to upgrade - which I did. But it is still broken. Now (after many attempts to uninstall, delete, re-upload, install, activate) when I try to activate, it responds with, "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class hsm_description in
Blog is at http://chiefshepherd.net
.../chiefshepherd/wp-content/plugins/headspace2/modules/page/description_1.php on line 24" and goes back to non-activated. Also, when I view the plugins, HSM is listed TWICE (both error in the same way.) I deleted the folder and both go away.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version from your board and uploaded that. Same problem. I deleted some unused tables from my database, repaired it, optimized it and still the same problems (both). I deleted HSM folder & tried again with a new upload - same problem.
I don't know if it matters but since upgrading to WP 2.5, I have had problems with trying to install too many plugins. After about 30 plugins, the next one will activate but when I press the MANAGE button, it displays on the heading and the rest of the page is blank (white). To assure that this is not the problem with HSM, I deactivated several others and tried HSM again -- same problems.
Except for the loss of the functions provided by HSM, the site works fine - no other issues.
Does anyone have any ideas?

There was an error in my TYPING in the above post. The "Blog is at http://chiefshepherd.net part SHOULD have gone at the top of the post. Sorry!

Hi Ray,
At first glance it looks simply like you have a duplicate file! The file wp-content/plugins/headspace2/modules/page/description_1.php is not part of the HeadSpace plugin, and appears to be a duplicate of the correct file (description.php). This would explain why you are receiving the error. I don't know why you would have the file description_1.php, but it must be being generated somewhere. Do you have any more details about this?

You were right. All of the files in the folder were duplicated. I guess when I thought I was over-writing them, the system somehow just renamed the originals?
Anyway, I deleted the entire HSM2 folder and copied in a fresh setup. When I tried to activate it, I got this:
Error 500 - Internal server error
An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.
I could not get back to the plugins sheet so I had to delete HSM again.
So. I guess I should start a new thread with the present error (what I had right after upgrading to WP2.5.

No one else has reported this error so I suspect it may be something to do with your site setup or environment. Possibly you could try increasing the memory allocated to PHP to 16MB or 32MB. See this post for an example how to do that.

If I add that line anywhere in the file, I get a "500 Internal Server Error."

BTW, Your "redirection" plugin also gives a 500 error when I activate it. So far, I have not run into this error in other plugins. The exception is (as in the comment above), when I add the extra line on the .htaccess file asking for more memory. In that case, whether I put 12M, 16M or 32M, I always get the 500 error.
