859 redirections for the same user and url. changed "category/..." to "tag/..."

Here are two similar but DIFFERENT problems:

80% of my redirections, about 6 to 9 per day are called by Google Feedfetcher for this single URL:

Source URL: /blog/uncategorized/caregivingchannelcom
Redirect to: /library/index.htm
User Agent: Feedfetcher-Google; (+http://www.google.com/feedfetcher.html

1405 redirections have been for that single url, perhaps all by that single user.

This is set:
HTTP Code: 301 (Moved Permanently)

so shouldn't Google have changed its records to call the new url?

Oh, this must be the problem - the "redirect to" url is a static page, not fit for a feed.

Hmm, if I want people to be redirected but not feed-bots, can I do that?
Perhaps my best option is to delete the original post.

DIFFERENT PROBLEM:

I have also had 859 redirections, sometimes 4 per day, by a Yahoo agent for the following feed URL:
Source URL: /blog/category/newsletter/feed/
Redirect to: /blog/tag/newsletter/feed/
User Agent: Yahoo! MyBlogLog API Client (curl) 5.2.5

I thought maybe I had the source url hardcoded somewhere, such as my feed links in my header, but no, my feed link is directly to the "redirect to" url.

What can I do?

Thanks.

I would imagine that FeedFetcher is part of Google Reader, not Google Search, and so anyone who uses an old RSS feed may be causing the repeated requests for the old URL.

You can create a redirection that is based upon the user agent if you want to differentiate.

As to the Yahoo agent that is something to do with the MyBlogLog service, which may be some widget on your site.
