Then I created a .htaccess file in there with the redirect info: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /home/somesite.com/www/ Which worked like a charm. So if you have FTP access or SSh access to your server and you can create folders and files then do it that way. It worked for me. I keep getting the message "The Drain Hole was not created - you must supply a unique URL (without http:// prefix) and directory" The default url/directory don't work, I've tried changing them, still the same message. Using Firefox, WP2.9.1 and Windows 7. I not technical at all, have no idea how I'm meant to create htaccess files, so any coding advice needs to be very easy to follow and extremely step by step! I've added the required .htaccess file. I also have enabled htaccess in options screen. My URL: milehightechguy.com/download (although every time I try to submit the http:// is added) My directory: /home/myusername/sites/root/download/ The directory is outside of public_html, but I keep getting the error msg that my 'chosen directory is within a publicly accessible web directory' (even though it isn't). I tried drain-hole on a clean wordpress install and got the same behavior. Leads me to believe that it's my host rather than a conflict with another plugin. This time around, it doesn't give me a completely blank page, but loads the header of the admin area all the way up to the navigation, but nothing else. Sorry for being such a hassle, but this plugin is perfect for what I need it for (especially since it supports Google Analytics). I will definately donate if it ever gets working.
