I talked to the dev of Simple Tags that told me that both plugins are not compatible... So I uninstalled Simple Tags and activated again HeadSpace but the "tags" line does not appear in the the simple module... Could it have something to do with the database ??

Here are two similar but DIFFERENT problems:

80% of my redirections, about 6 to 9 per day are called by Google Feedfetcher for this single URL:

Source URL:  /blog/uncategorized/caregivingchannelcom
Redirect to: /library/index.htm
User Agent:  Feedfetcher-Google; (+http://www.google.com/feedfetcher.html

1405 redirections have been for that single url, perhaps all by that single user.

This is set:
HTTP Code: 301 (Moved Permanently)

so shouldn't Google have changed its records to call the new url?

Oh, this must be the problem - the "redirect to" url is a static page, not fit for a feed.

Hmm, if I want people to be redirected but not feed-bots, can I do that?
Perhaps my best option is to delete the original post.

DIFFERENT PROBLEM:

I have also had 859 redirections, sometimes 4 per day, by a Yahoo agent for the following feed URL:
Source URL:  /blog/category/newsletter/feed/
Redirect to: /blog/tag/newsletter/feed/
User Agent: Yahoo! MyBlogLog API Client (curl) 5.2.5

I thought maybe I had the source url hardcoded somewhere, such as my feed links in my header, but no, my feed link is directly to the "redirect to" url.

What can I do?

Thanks.

Hi,

From the redirection admin, if I click on groups or modules, they will display, but if I click on the edit to the right, the site will open on top of the admin page(which is still visible but underneath).

I can see the admin page beneath the 404 page which covers the screen (kind of transparent)

It won't add any redirections either. When I add a redirection in the fields and subit, it just goes back to empty fields.

Funny thing, it does the same thing on Headspace2 from the "page settings" page when I click on any of the options ie; Global settings, home page etc.

I've also tried deactivating all other plugins, same thing happens.

wp 2.6.1
OS  	Linux
PHP  	v4.4.7
MYSQL  	v4.1.22-standard
curl    enabled

Thanks, sorry for the long post. I should add I've used both of these plugins for a long time, and they are a tremendous help.

Another issue was that renaming the roles of users in another language, this will make not run correctly the
models/permissions.php:

function can_restrict ()
{
if (current_user_can ('administrator') || current_user_can ('edit_permissions'))
return true;
return false;
}

So creating a "Edit Permissions" to assign to the roles that must have it.... solves the problem.

Solved.
I should create a new capability "Edit Permissions" and assign it to the permissions of the users, included the administrator.

I've found, a "bug" in the models/permissions.php, function "get".
the row:
$data = unserialize ($row->meta_value);

must be converted in
$data = unserialize (stripslashes($row->meta_value));

if the user has a in the php configuration the "magic_quotes_gpc" enabled.
Or better would be to change the "save" section.

If you want to check it...

Now, the user permissions works perfectly.

Hi Lars, try to understand if the problem is related to the PHP configuration value: "magic_quotes_gpc".
I found that the permissions are saved back-slashed, so the wp-content/plugins/user/models/permissions.php (function get) doesn't unserialized correctly the meta_value (row 49 circa).
I had:
$data = unserialize ($row->meta_value);

with this it worked for me:
$data = unserialize (stripslashes($row->meta_value));

Hi,

Posted this as a comment but probably better off in here... After upgrading to the latest version now when I publish a new post on my blog all links to the homepage get redirected to the posts page. So going to http://www.bluntedpresents.co.uk/ would send you straight to the latest post, rather than showing the homepage. At this time the plugin has been de-aticvated. Any ideas? I'm using WordPress 2.6 and Mimbo Pro theme.

Thanks in advance!

John,

Not sure to fully understand your answer. I am not easy with placement.
I understand that sniplet doesn't work for homepage or archive by default and that I should use placement. It's hard for me as with previous versions of sniplets, my sniplet are correctly displayed on all page of the site(home, archive, post, page, ...)

So I tried to use archive placement as exemple. When I add this placement and load the archive page, the sniplet displays well. But the sniplet no longer displays when I click on the single post (because of the placement I imagine).

How can I solve that ? I want that one sniplet to be interprated wherever I am on the website, because I have to display it on home,archive, single post, category page, ...
Could I enable sniplet evaluation on all site ?

HeadSpace works with WP 2.6, and if you say you've tried disabling the other plugins then the problem must be with your configuration of HeadSpace. You could try selecting the remove headspace option from the HeadSpace options page to completley remove all traces of HeadSpace, and then re-activate the plugin. If that still doesnt work the only thing I can think is that your host is running software that does not support HS

Not seen this before but a 500 error sometimes indicates you have run out of memory. You may be able to fix it by following the instructions here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/135769

No, there is nothing else you need to do. Sorry, but due to lack of time I'm no longer supporting this plugin. If you can get it working then great.

Hi,

It is related to placements, and also to my forgetting to put a section of code in the plugin. Basically if you want to have a sniplet appear on the home page then you need to add a placement for the appropriate section of the home page (the home page section was missing). If you want it to appear on individual posts, as well as archive pages, then you'll need placements for each.

I'll release the new version later.

I'm not in China anymore, no. The olympics was a long way from where I was anyway, and now it's even further!

For some reason Headspace2 modules admin doesn't work on my FireFox. And if I use Explorer to edit description length, it always saves 0 as maximum length.

Apart from that Headspace2 works fine. Seems to me, I just need to manually edit the description length. Only problem is, I have no idea where that value is stored...
