Hi,

I've installed this plugin (that is a great feature by itself) and generally it's working OK but I've a problem with highlighting the searching terms in case of multipage. My pages are divided in "parts" using multi-page toolkit plugin. If first case of searching term is not on first "part" of such multi-paged page there is no highlighting and the term could not be reached through local results help box (for pages without division everything is OK). Is there any way to make these plugins work correctly together?
(sorry, but I cann't provide you with url of my site because I tested it on local machine only).
Thanks in advance for your help,

When coming to my website from Google, the plugin highlights the searched words, but it also disable the flash support for an unknown reason.

If you want to reproduce it:

visit:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=fr&q=site%3Awww.ambient-occlusion.com+camera+tracking&btnG=Recherche+Google&meta=&aq=f&oq=

then click on the first link (the one with "camera tracking" in the title)

You'll see on the bottom of the page "Get the Flash Player to see this player."
If you refresh the page (not by clicking the refresh button of the browser but by pressing enter in the address field) the flash player will appear correctly.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
i really *love* this plugin.
But in 3 month i had 106499 searches.. and all of this searches are logged (i think they are in db, right?).

Is possible to disable the log searches? Or empty automatically every x day?

Thanks for the support,

I have a bilingual site, in English (default) and Chinese languages. (BTW, I am using qTranslate and WP 2.3.3.)

The indexing and search works well on the English language portion of the site. The search does NOT work on the Chinese portion, and I think the reason is that the plugin doesn't know that it needs to index those pages as well.

Any hack to force the indexing?

My directory structure is
/ for the default English langauge, and
/zh/ for Chinese

Could I, for example, change the default language (temporarily, using qTranslate) to Chinese and index the site again? Will that overwrite the old index?

(BTW, qTranslate plugin is not for machine translation, but rather for doing multilingual sites.)

Help is much appreciated! ????!

Using datafeedr plugin for product and also have a blog. Trying to get Unleashed to index everything on the site but it only indexes the posts and comments. The datafeedr info is coming from a text file. I suppose Unleashed only indexes the mysql database and so does not index pages coming from a text file. Is this correct? If so, any suggestions.

So I installed the Search Unleashed plugin into my WordPress 2.6.2. It shows up under Manage and I see the "Search Index" page with the cat. I click Re-index posts and/or Re-index comments and nothing happens - no JavaScript errors or anything. When I click on the Log, Modules or Options sub pages, I just get a 404.

Hi! First let me say that Search Unleashed is a great plugin! Thx a lot!!

I'm using on my weblog but I think something is wrong with logical operators and wildcars.

Example:

I have this post:

http://www.criteriondg.info/wordpress/como-evitar-problemas-cuando-envies-algo-a-imprimir/

1) If I try to find something like: evitar problemas imprimir (the post is appearing in search results)

2) If I try to find something like: +evitar +problemas +imprimir (the post not appear in search results)

In second case the post should be appearing, isn't it? I'm not sure...

The other thing: quotes doesn't work for me.

If I try to find 'evitar problemas' or something inside quotes and always 0 results.

Any ideas? Thx in advance!

Thanks again for your plugin! :D

Friendly greetings John and everyone!

I haven't been able to get Search Unleashed to work with the http://press75.com On Demand theme, and don't see why it'd break.

On Demand is a video-focused theme but I did a slight edit (copying part of one theme file to another) so that it shows post excerpts instead of video thumbnails as search results (hence, useful with Search Unleashed). But I notice a number of problems:

* It made a kitten cry! Oh no!
* Other links like "MORE »" (aka "Read More") don't work.
* Words are highlighted, tho.

Here's a picture to help you see what I'm seeing:

Any noticeable culprits? Thanks in advance!

here's m search form:

Hi!

I like your plugin very much!

I have been using it on my site quite a bit, but then i realized that search results are much better if each time i search for something i add "" to the word. Example when i search for horse, i have to write "horse" to get better results.

Is there a way i could add "" to every search? Or a setting that can search like that?

Hey Guys,

I am currently using the call the_content_rss in my ./theloop.php file to display post content when viewing archives or searches, since this allows for an increased "cut" character limit, which the_excerpt does not. However, I have noticed that when using the_content_rss highlighting done by Search Unleashed no longer takes place (although the title is highlighted correctly). Any ideas on how to get this working?

Thanks.

I have this custom field called "votes", which records the number of positive votes (no negative values) that each post received from the audience/readers. (It's a ratings system that I use to meter the popularity and quality of the posts)

In my search form I would like to have this checkbox that should filter specific values on search queries. Example: if user checks the checkbox for "search only posts with more than 5 votes" then it should exclude posts with less than 5 votes on the search query.

In a normal MySQL query I know it should look like this:

SELECT ... WHERE ... AND $wpdb->postmeta.meta_key='votes' AND ($wpdb->postmeta.meta_value*1)>=5 `

I just don't know how to put it in the Search-Unleashed plugin, since it has many triggers.

Any help is very appreciated. ;)

Hi, great plugin especially since it also searchs nextgen gallery. However, I am facing one problem. Is it possible to refine search results to only display full words? For example if searching for the word 'one' also 'phone' or 'lonely' will be displayed as search result. If searching for a phrase such as 'Books to read' all posts with words containing the two characters 'to' will be displayed including Toronto, tobacco or who knows what else.

Full text search won't help. If the search terms include for example the article 'a' the search will display all posts with words containing the character 'a' (which means almost every post :)). Is there a way to refine the search here?

The search highlighting is an awesome feature and the whole search unleashed plug-in works amazingly well. The only thing I am having trouble with is having the highlighting show up on page 2, 3, etc. for posts in which I have used the --nextpage-- tag. Is there a setting to change this or a fix I could add to the plug-in code?

For an example, go to presaletoday.com, search on the band Hinder. Click on the result for May 19, 2008 and note that even though Hinder shows up on the second page of the post, it is not highlighted. Thanks!

For Some reason Search Unleashed refuses to work with Search Permalink which changes the links from something like http://example.com/?s=example to http://example.com/search/example. Any Idea why?

I'm running ver 0.2.15
Everything was working swell, but then, out of nowhere, new posts we're being retrieved by the search (old ones were).
I took a look at the wp_search DB table, and saw that the new article were being indexed alright (the content appears right, and the Priority terms are filled correctly). Also, the search index total number of items is increased whenever a new post is added.

Disabling the plugin and reverting to the old WP search returns the missing results. Reinstalling the plugin, performing manual re-index and changing the search type don't yield results.

Any thoughts?

The site is www.advancedqtp.com.

Hello,

Thank you for this nice plugin, works fine for me. The only issue that I have is, the following text is not translated to German, although it is in the de_DE.po and de_DE.mo files: 'You arrived here after searching for the following phrase' and of course 'You arrived here after searching for the following phrases'.

Regards, Benson

I will start by admitting that it seems clear I contributed to this issue. I'll explain.

I had submitted a feature request to allow bolding search phrases in addition to or instead of colors. I picked around a bit and found this bit of code in css.php - .searchterm<?php echo $x + 1 ?> { background-color: #<?php echo $highlight[$x] ?>; padding: 2px 0px;}

Having found this, I added font-weight: 700 between the php call and padding. I then set the highlighting to white and got my bold search terms. It worked fine - no issues.

Last night, I upgraded to the latest version 0.2.13 with the intent of carrying forward my little hack. However, I blundered and removed the #<?php echo $highlight[$x] ?>;. Search returned zero results and I realized my mistake.

I then went back, restored the original plugin code and reran the indexing. The indexing process reported as complete but then would show no items actually indexed and search would return 0 results.

I also tried reverting to previous versions of the plugin to no avail. I also observed that the tables search and search phrases exist in my test region but not my main site. Are these the two generated by Search Unleashed?

If they are, it leads me to think that the issue relates to a piece of code that thinks the tables exist based on some parameter I'm missing.

Thanks in advance for your help!
